A Monument for MHHS Email from Lisa Hathcoat... To buy a personalized brick paver... And they said it couldn't be done!
I (Lisa Hathcoat) am happy to announce that the Anderson Community School Board of Trustees voted unanimously, yes unanimously, to approve the proposed Pirate monument to be placed at what is now Anderson High School. Lisa Hathcoat December 27, 2009 at 3:36am wrote… The now approved Pirate monument is black with a Pirate head in the upper left hand corner. The upper right hand corner features a Pirate ship. A photo of the school is in the center surrounded by the years 1956 and 1997. The words include "Fond Remembrance of Madison Heights High School. Walk Tall, Be Proud, You Are A Pirate!" The" exact" location of the monument on the grounds of AHS is still in discussion with the appropriate parties. However, it is safe to announce that the approved monument will sit on the front lawn of AHS--somewhere. This could not have been done without your faith and actions! Thank you to everyone on Facebook (Search for Lisa Hathcoat) who loves the Pirates as much as I do and wanted to honor the memory of Madison Heights High School of Anderson, Indiana. Let us celebrate the victory tonight! It is up to all of us to raise the funds for the monument. If you are able to do so, please send your donation as quickly as possible to: Remember to write "Approved MHHS Monument" in the memo section of the check! P.S. Be thinking about the dedication ceremony! Are you ready for the biggest class reunion ever held?!! I am! Target date: March/April 2010! If you have questions or comments, you can email Lisa. Lisa Hathcoat Plus, the Madison County Historical Society is willing to collect and set up a nice MHHS display with any memorabilia donated. I believe they do have a few photos and yearbooks. If you have any appropriate memorabilia to donate for a display, take it to them or Email the MCHS. Thanks. Peggy Dwyer Dixon Brick Pavers that will surround the monument.
