I promised to send you a letter after returning from our vacation in Madeira, which by the way was a very pleasant experience. I also keep The 1965 Treasure Chest (Yearbook). It too brings back memories. I wonder if any of my teachers are still alive. The ones I best remember are Mr. Jennings, Mrs. Roller and Mrs. Gwinn. Sorry to hear about the demolition of our old school.

My daughter Helena is 29 years old, still single. She too was an exchange student in USA when she was 18 or 19. She stayed in Rockford, Illinois. Unlike me, she has lost contact with her host family.

Now she works for an import company here in Gothenburg. We both like skiing, mostly slalom but cross-country are OK too. In late January we went to the Swedish mountains for a long weekend (Friday thru Sunday) and had a real good time in the slopes. After-Ski and good food in nice restaurants come with the package. My husband Jan used to do some cross-country but unfortunately we hardly ever get any snow around here and therefore it’s difficult to keep up with it. He once tried slalom but didn’t get the hang of it. The mountains are 10-12 hours drive away, a reason good enough for not going there more than once or twice a year. This summer we are going to Iceland to celebrate my sisters 60th birthday. We already made flight reservations. I look forward to meeting relatives and old friends. Haven’t been there for three years.

Your old classmate, Inga
